Vincent Valero-Volkov was born on August 8. 2052 in Heywood, Night City to Heywood native, Marina Valero (2031) and Russian born, Alek Volkov (2029.)Vs mother, Marina Valero, born and raised in Heywood to a Valentino family had always struggled with finding her place with the rest of her family. She had different goals in life that didn't involve the gang her family affiliated with. She left the Valentinos and cut contact with her family to find a different lifestyle and peace.Alek Volkov grew up in the struggle of Russian life. He became an overworked and underpaid engineer to assemble and dissemble cyberware to distribute around the Soviet Union and eventually to the NUSA. Alek discovered information he was never supposed to see of where their cyberware parts were coming from; harvested corpses of random civilians around the world. Their biggest trader was from Night City; Scavangers. The gang, which is notorious for their brutality and "grave robbing." Alek couldn't just quit his job, he had to flee before the company disposed of him. He ended up in multiple cities before settling in Night City in 2050.Marina and Alek ended up meeting at a Piez diner, both reminiscing and planning their futures. Noticing the others loneliness, they ended up chatting for hours about their pasts and starting a new life. They got together shortly after and married a year later.In 2052 they welcomed their first and only child.In 2059 tragedy fell onto the Valero-Volkov family. A group of scavs recognized Alek- a loose end that betrayed their country's trust, and decided to deal with him. They followed him home until the next day, 7 year old Vincent discovered the brutal sight of his mother and father murdered and harvested.With nowhere else to go, V sought out Valentino members to help him find the rest of his mothers family. His mothers younger sister of four years, Juliet, found the poor boy and had no choice but to take him in. Juliet was a proud member of the Valentinos and had no interest in domestic family matters. V and Juliet barely spoke, she simply provided shelter and food for the boy. While his relationship with his aunt wasn't great, his new large Valentino family welcomed him with open arms. He wanted to be just as strong as them one day. To avenge his parents.At age 15 Vincent officially joined the Valentinos and went by the alias, "V." Sebastian "Padre" Ibarra, leader of the Valentinos, become a mentor to the young man and taught him how to survive the city. He didn't understand why his mother separated herself from this lifestyle and family. He loved it. V met another child of the Valentinos, Jackie Welles. They became immediate best friends, getting up to no good and becoming inseparable.It wasn't until two years later when Jackie almost died to a firefight from a gang war between Valentinos and Maelstrom that caused Mama Welles to panic and begged the two boys to leave the gang. V left with Jackie, knowing from first hand experiences how gang entanglements can tear families apart- just like his own family.V made a promise to himself all those years ago that he would one day avenge his parents to the monsters that killed them, and without the Valentinos he decided to become a Merc with Jackie. Padre continued to be supportive of V, having a soft spot for him since he was a boy. The two mercs struggled in their first couple years but never backed down to make it to "the big leagues." When V was 21, Jackie introduced him to Viktor Vektor- ex pro boxer and Northsides best ripperdoc and Misty Olszewsk- owner of Misty's Esoterica which housed the ripperdocs clinic. V would be lying if he didn't immediately start crushing on the Ripper. Viktor became a huge help to the two mercs, improving their tech and even teaching V a few boxing moves "just in case." Until 2 years later when they got a job from Dexter Deshawn...

Post Game

V decided to take Solomon Reed's offer to cure the ticking timebomb in his head. The surgery was a success but caused V to be in a coma for the next 2 years. There was a complication that disallowed his body to have any remaining cyberware because of how fragile his body had become. Even the smallest or simplest modification could kill V.
Now living as a regular civilian in NC rather than the deadly merc he once was, he lived with Viktor Vektor. All of his friends were either dead, on the run or never contacted him again. V fell into a depression while being cooped up in Viktors apartment for months which led to a suicide attempt which thankfully Viktor caught and prevented. Their relationship got stronger and finally confessed their feelings while getting out of the house and sparring at an old boxing ring.They officially started dating.A few months later, Vs mental was starting to crumble once again. After getting triggered at the mention of So-Mi, he ran out of the apartment with nothing but his pistol, a gift from Padre, and stayed at the No Tell Motel for a few days. He wanted to get away from Viktor after crumbling at the realization that all he did was ruin the lives of his loved ones. He felt like a burden for Viktor and thought leaving him would be better for the ripper.During his stay at the NTM, there was banging at the door that revealed to be Scavs who knocked V out and brought him to an abandoned warehouse to torture and eventually kill and harvest the 5 star threat merc that had become their biggest pest for years.After days of worrying, Viktor reached out to Rogue Amendiares to help him find where V went. They discovered him at the warehouse, surrounded by Scavs. They raided the building quickly and found V strapped to a metal table with cuts and bruises littering his body. The horrific sight of his lover with a deep cut down his sternum to his stomach would haunt the ripper. He got him stabled back at his clinic but V wouldn’t wake up until 3 days later. V recovered but had a lot of healing to do before he was back to “normal.”
